Learning Through Doing
At East Bentleigh Primary School, our students in grades three to six go on camp once a year with their classmates from both streams. These camps provide the children with a fantastic opportunity to develop initiative, self-confidence and leadership by participating and cooperating with peers, teachers and parents in a variety of challenging outdoor experiences.
These specially selected camps encourage the children to develop a responsible attitude towards personal and group safety as well as increasing their knowledge and awareness of the natural environment.
The emphasis of our program is learning through doing.
Our Camp Program
We have developed a structured, sequential program of camps for all children in grades three to six which usually is as follows:

Year 4 Sovereign HillThree days and two nights

All camps we go to are accredited school camps according to the guidelines of the Australian Campsite Accreditation Program. All non-teaching staff attending a camp must have a current 'Working With Children' check.
