Principal's Message

Dear Families,

We’re now over halfway through Term 3, and it’s been a dynamic and energising few weeks at EBPS. Term 3 is a pivotal time for learning, where students often experience significant growth in both confidence and achievement. Routines are strong, relationships are well-established, and many students begin to extend themselves in meaningful ways.

As I write this, I can hear the joyful sounds of students participating in School Athletics Day — a true celebration of effort, teamwork and fun. There’s a wonderful buzz across the school, with preparations underway for the 3/4 camp, Grade 6 graduation, and upcoming music events.

Thank you, as always, for the important role you play in our vibrant community.
Parent Teacher Interviews – Thank You

A warm thank you to all our teachers for their time, care and dedication in meeting with families for Parent Teacher Interviews. These conversations are powerful opportunities to connect, reflect, and plan together for each student’s growth.

Thank you as well to the many parents and carers who attended — your engagement and support are invaluable. A special shoutout to Jane and the students who lovingly prepared warming soups for staff, and to Ann and Michelle for coordinating the setup. It truly takes a team!

Amazing Student Artwork – 2I Dragons

Class 2I have been busy creating beautiful dragons using their knitting Nancies, and the results are stunning. Each dragon is a personal, hand-crafted creation — colourful, unique, and full of character — much like the students themselves!

In Steiner Class 2, children are typically immersed in animal fables and mythical stories, such as those involving dragons. These tales reflect the inner emotional landscape of the child at this stage, helping them develop moral understanding, creativity, and self-expression. The dragon, in many traditions, symbolises courage, transformation and imagination — all fitting themes for our young learners.

Well done to Class 2I for bringing these magical beings to life with such skill and care.

Building Works – Phase One Nearing Completion

We’re excited to share that Phase One of our building upgrades is on track to be completed within the next two weeks. The front of the main building is already looking fresh and vibrant — we encourage families to take a peek if you haven’t had the chance.

We remain committed to creating safe, inspiring and functional spaces for your children to learn and grow. Details about Phase Two will be shared with the community soon. Thank you for your patience and support as this work continues.

Open Learning Space Working Bee – A Community Effort

This week, a wonderful group of parents and students joined Michelle and Jane for a working bee to help prepare our Outdoor Learning Space. Together, they spread softfall into the area, getting it ready for Term 4 use.

Thank you to everyone who contributed their time and energy. These events are a reflection of the heart and generosity of our school community — we’re so grateful for your support.

Book Week Dress-Up Day – Monday 25th August

A reminder that Monday 25th August is Book Week Dress-Up Day! Students are invited to come to school dressed as their favourite book characters. We’ll begin the day with a parade, where students can proudly show off their costumes.

Book Week is all about celebrating the power of reading. Reading builds language, imagination, empathy and knowledge — it is one of the most powerful tools for lifelong learning. We encourage all students to dive into a book this week and discover where their imaginations might take them.

Athletics Day Celebration

Today is our School Athletics Day, and it’s been a fantastic showcase of student spirit, enthusiasm, and kindness. Students have arrived in their vibrant house colours, cheering one another on and embracing the values of fair play and encouragement.

It’s been heartening to see how supportive students are of one another, celebrating efforts just as much as achievements. Congratulations to all students participating today — and a special note that those who place in their events will go on to represent EBPS at the MPSSA Athletics Carnival on September 8th. We’re proud of you!

Reminder: Walkie Talkies Not Permitted at School

Please note that walkie talkies are not permitted at school. These devices can connect to open frequencies, and we are unable to monitor or control who students might be communicating with.

If a student brings a walkie talkie to school, it must be handed in at the office for the day and collected at the end. Thank you for your understanding in keeping our school environment safe and focused on learning.

Congratulations Llewelyn!
Well done Llewelyn for making it into the School Sport Victoria team for Rudby League Touch - what a great achievement!
