East Bentleigh Primary School acknowledges the traditional owners of the land on which we work and learn, the Boon Wurrung people. We pay respect to their elders, past, present and future for they hold the memories, traditions, cultures and hopes of Aboriginal Australia.
Dear Families,
As we come to the end of Term 2, I want to take a moment to reflect on the many wonderful things we’ve achieved together as a school community. From the success of our Mid-Winter Festival and the Open Day, to the buzz of the Thursday Market, camp experiences, the launch of our Respect value focus, and the opening of our brand-new Kindergarten space — it’s been a truly rich and rewarding term.
It has also been a long one — and a cold one! And yet, through it all, our staff, students and families have continued to show up with warmth, generosity and spirit. It really does take a village, and I’m so proud and grateful to be part of this one.
Thank you, sincerely, to everyone who has volunteered, helped in classrooms, supported events, cheered from the sidelines, and made this term such a success.
Term 3 Begins – Monday 21st July
A reminder that all students return to school on Monday 21st July at 8:50am for the beginning of Term 3. We look forward to welcoming you back after what we hope is a restful and restorative break.
Calendar Snapshot Returns Next Term
You’ve spoken, and we’ve listened! Starting next term, we’ll be returning to sharing a fortnightly calendar snippet so you can easily see upcoming events and stay informed. Here is a quick look at what is planned for Term 3 so far.
Please note - you can ALSO view the latest School Calendar at any time on Compass - you can choose to view it by day, week, month or term and also choose what you want to include by clicking on the layers you want to view, ie: School Events, Public Holidays etc.

Eurythmy for Adults – More Opportunities Ahead
We’ve had such wonderful feedback from our previous Eurythmy sessions for parents and carers, and we’re pleased to share that more free opportunities will be offered next term. These sessions are a beautiful way to connect with the foundations of Steiner education through mindful, expressive movement. Keep an eye out early in Term 3 for dates and details.
Building Works Update – Refurbished Rooms Opening
We are thrilled to announce that two of our newly refurbished classrooms will open at the start of Term 3! A huge thank you for your patience as works have continued around the school.
The remaining rooms are expected to reopen within the first few weeks of Term 3, and we’ll continue to update you as timelines are confirmed. These improvements are part of our long-term commitment to ensuring your children learn in the best environment possible.
Once again, thank you to each and every one of you for your support, encouragement, and contributions this term. Our school thrives because of the heart and dedication of this community.
Stay safe and warm over the holiday break, and we look forward to seeing you back, refreshed and ready, for Term 3.
Warm regards,
Sarah Spence
