Principal's Message

Dear Families,

It’s hard to believe we’re already in Week 10 of Term 2! As we approach the final week of term, I want to share how proud I am of our students for embracing our ongoing focus on Respect. From the yard to the classroom, students are demonstrating a genuine commitment to building a respectful, inclusive, and caring school community. Thank you to our families who continue these important conversations at home — together, we’re creating something truly special.

With just one week to go, I encourage everyone to dig deep and finish the term with strength and positivity. The end of term is always a busy time, and your support, energy, and commitment mean so much. I’ll share a final newsletter next week with a wrap-up before the break.

Thank You – Open Day Success

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who contributed to our Open Day last week. We had a fantastic turnout, and it was wonderful to welcome prospective families to East Bentleigh Primary School.

Visitors consistently commented on the calm and engaging atmosphere in our classrooms, the uniqueness of our school animals, and the genuine sense of community we foster. Many families stayed to chat afterward and expressed how impressed they were by the strong relationships between staff and students — something we’re incredibly proud of.

A particular thank you to our wonderful Janette Grunfelder for her exceptional work in arranging and coordinating the Open Day. Your efforts helped make the day run so smoothly and successfully.

Thank you again to all staff, students, and volunteers who helped showcase our beautiful school.

Emergency Drill – Well Done Everyone

This week we successfully ran a lockdown drill as part of our regular emergency management procedures. Our students responded calmly, respectfully, and responsibly, following instructions and supporting one another throughout.

Thank you to all staff and students for helping this important safety practice run so smoothly. These drills are an essential part of maintaining a safe learning environment, and your cooperation ensures we’re well prepared.
