Principal's Message

Hello Wonderful EBPS Community,
As we inch closer to the end of Term 1, I know many of us - students, staff, and families alike - are looking forward to a well-earned term break. With just one week to go, there's still lots happening at EBPS, and the energy around the school remains high. I’m especially mindful of our amazing Preps, many of whom are navigating their very first term of school. They’ve done an incredible job adjusting to new routines, friendships, and learning, and I’m sure they’ll be more than ready for a big rest soon!

A Time to Persevere

As we approach the final week of term, it’s a great time to talk about perseverance - the ability to keep going, even when things feel tough or tiring. Whether it's completing a learning task, solving a tricky problem, or just staying focused during a busy day, perseverance is a powerful skill that helps us grow.

American inventor Thomas Edison, who famously invented the lightbulb, once said: "Many of life's failures are people who did not realize how close they were to success when they gave up." Edison’s story is one of perseverance -he failed over a thousand times before finding a working solution.

Or think of explorers like Ernest Shackleton, who led his crew through the perilous Antarctic after their ship was trapped in ice. His perseverance and leadership helped them survive against all odds. These stories remind us that finishing strong is just as important as starting strong. Let’s encourage our students to stay committed, finish off their work, and take pride in everything they’ve accomplished this term.

Swimming Success

Our swimming program has been going wonderfully well! I’ve been so impressed with the effort and enthusiasm our students have shown. Many have been incredibly brave, stepping outside their comfort zones to learn new swimming techniques and push themselves.

You should all be very proud of yourselves - your persistence and willingness to try something new is truly inspiring. Well done!

Why Attendance Matters

Being at school every day really matters. Did you know that missing just one day a fortnight adds up to 20 days a year, which is almost a full month of school missed? Over time, this can have a huge impact on learning, friendships, and confidence.

We understand that sometimes absences are unavoidable, but if there’s anything we can do to support your family to improve attendance, please don’t hesitate to talk with us. We’re here to help.

Working Bee – this Sunday 30th March 9am-12noon

Our rescheduled Working Bee is happening this Sunday at 9am, and we’ll be focusing on improvements to the Prep play area. If you can spare any time at all, please come along and lend a hand.

We are deeply grateful for the support of our school community. It’s always such a joy to see families come together to improve our spaces for the benefit of our students.

PCFA Update – Exciting Outdoor Learning Space Coming Soon!

We are so fortunate to have a dedicated and passionate PCFA who work hard to support our school and students. Thanks to fundraising from last year’s Colour Run, we’ll soon begin construction of an outdoor learning space early next term.

This new space will give students the opportunity to learn in nature, engage in hands-on activities, and experience the benefits of outdoor education. Thank you to everyone who contributed - it’s going to be a fantastic addition to our school!

Building Works Next Week

In the final week of term, works will begin at the end of our main building to refresh some of the classrooms. While we’ve scheduled as much of the work as possible for weekends and the school holidays, some activity during school hours is unavoidable.

We’ll do our best to minimise disruption and keep everything as quiet as possible. Please be mindful of any fencing or signage during this time and thank you for your patience and understanding.

School Photo Day - Wednesday 2nd April

A reminder that our School Photo day is this Wednesday. Please try to be at school on time and in full school uniform. Photo orders can be placed online via Compass. Family/Sibling photos are also available - these orders must be in by 11pm Tuesday 1st April.
PLEASE NOTE: There will be NO Breakfast Club on School Photo Day - due to the photographers using the PAC as their photo studio.

Easter Bonnet Parade

We look forward to seeing all the fantastic hats our students create for our very popular Easter Bonnet Parade next Friday 4th April at 9:00am!

New Sign Installed!

The mosaic sign created by last year’s Grade 6 students is now installed - and it looks absolutely fabulous! Its vibrant, creative, and professional design is a testament to the talent and teamwork of our students. It also reflects the strong sense of community we’ve built at EBPS.

A huge thank you to Lee and Leanne, and to Sal and all others who supported this project. If I’ve missed naming someone who helped, please accept my heartfelt thanks—we know many people contributed to this beautiful piece. Also thanks to Adrian for installing our sign.

We’ll take a photo with students next week and include it in a future newsletter - so keep an eye out!

Indian Festival - Class 5A
By: Michelle Mather - Assistant Principal

I had the pleasure of visiting the Class 5A Indian Feast this week. Marking the culmination of their India main lesson, the children proudly shared their main lesson books and craft projects, showcasing their knowledge and creativity. The atmosphere was warm and festive, with everyone enjoying a delicious spread of fragrant Indian food. A heartfelt thank you to the parents for bringing and sharing the wonderful dishes, making this celebration even more special for the children.
