Principal's Message

Safe  Holidays

To all our wonderful East Bentleigh Community – have a safe, healthy, and enjoyable holiday. We look forward to seeing you all on Monday 15th July for an 8:50am start.

Parent/Teacher Interviews

Thank-you to both the teachers and parents for the very successful interview sessions held on Monday afternoon and evening. Whilst these were being held, all students from Prep – Grade 6 participated in fun activities run by Pro Activity.

PCFA – (East Bentleigh’s Parents, Carers and Friends Association)

Our first PCFA meeting will be held on Wednesday 17th July at 2.30pm. Everyone is invited to attend but you must be a registered member if there is a vote required on anything. Our first meeting is all about getting as many ideas as possible on what people would like to do to grow the school community and fundraising ideas.

Eurythmy Spiral

On Thursday our Eurythmy classes in the Steiner stream all participated in the beautiful Winter Spiral. The Winter Spiral allows for a rekindling of our inner light during a time of darkness, time to celebrate and welcome the return of longer light hours and the promise of Spring. It is the balance point within the year, for slowing down and taking time for introspection.

The PAC was blacked out in the morning by Kate and our Steiner teachers in preparation for this event. Each Steiner class from Class 1-6 participated in this ceremony. This year our parents were invited to come and watch. I would like to thank Kate Graves (Eurythmy teacher) and Josef Yavlinsky (pianist) for creating a beautiful ceremony for our students and parents to enjoy.

Midwinter Festival

Thank you to everyone who attended our Midwinter Festival on Thursday night. We were fortunate to have a mild night which made our Spiral Walk on the oval and Lantern Walk such a delightful experience. Whilst our Year 1-3 children participated in the Spiral Walk, our prep children enjoyed a story with Donna in the prep room. They joined the rest of the children for the
Lantern Walk. This year we had Taraleigh Kinder join us on the Lantern Walk. Thank you to Aaron from Kennards Hire Moorabbin who kindly donated the heaters which helped to keep us warm during the festival. It was a wonderful evening and a lovely way to finish Term 2.

Matt Moras Music Concert

On Wednesday night Matt Moras’ music students performed for their parents in the PAC. What amazing talent was on show from singing to guitar and piano playing. East Bentleigh P.S. certainly has talent!
